Case study using Nuance wall panelling
Introduction
Wall panelling is becoming increasingly popular in bathrooms due to it being easily cleanable with no grout lines to get mouldy.
I must hear this 4 times a week meeting new customers as many dream of a maintenance free bathroom!
It can also be much quicker to install than tiles and this is one of the reasons that so many disability bath companies claim a 1 day installation as they bang paneling over the existing tiles in order to get the job done quickly ‘with minimum fuss!’
However, questionable fitting practises aside, bathroom wall panelling is not without its drawbacks and the first is often cost.
Depending on the manufacturer and the type of panelling (there’s more than one type) it’s often much more expensive to panel out a bathroom compared to tiling it with standard ceramic tiles even when quicker fitting and reduced labour rates are factored in (in my experience).
Still, check out this bathroom in which we used Nuance Bushboard to create a stunning walk in shower area with concealed alcove & shower seat….
We also added some custom fitted units for storage with nightlights in the plinth that come on automatically on a motion sensor….
…and an LVT floor with underfloor heating…..
The shower area featured a large, colour co-ordinated shower tray and walk in enclosure….
as well as a storage nook and shower seat.
