When Dotty reached out to us, she had one main concern: getting in and out of the bath was becoming unsafe.

She didn’t want a dramatic remodel, she didn’t want weeks of noise and dust, and she certainly didn’t want to spend money unnecessarily.

• Remove the existing bath

A full bathroom rip-out wasn’t necessary — and would have been expensive and disruptive for Dotty.

• The existing wall tiling
• All of the original bathroom layout and pipework
• The shower valve & radiator (pic below)
• The general aesthetic that Dotty already liked

This approach kept the job faster, tidier, and significantly more cost-effective, while still delivering the safety-related changes that mattered.

3. What We Upgraded

The bath was removed and replaced with a modern, low-profile shower tray and glass screen — much easier and safer for Dotty to step into.

✔ New Vinyl Flooring

Rather than retiling the entire floor, we replaced the tiled floor with a clean, slip-resistant vinyl.

✔ New WC & Basin Unit with Storage

Taking the opportunity to add value, we upgraded the WC and fitted a combined basin/storage unit.

This wasn’t about style for style’s sake — it was about future-proofing Dotty’s home.

Key safety improvements included:

• No steep bath wall to climb over
• Stable, large shower area with a grab handle to aid entry & exit
• A boxed in section at the foot of the shower to lean on and store shampoo bottles etc.
• Vinyl flooring that’s softer and warmer underfoot (and easier to keep clean)
• A layout that reduces risk of slips or awkward movements

Dotty now has a bathroom that supports her rather than works against her.

5. Fast, Clean & Budget-Aware

Because we avoided unnecessary demolition and didn’t retile the entire room, the project was:
