From Spare Space to Ensuite Luxury

Intro

What looks like a plain corner of a bedroom can be transformed into a fully functioning ensuite with clever planning and skilled workmanship.

This project shows exactly how we take an unused space and turn it into something that adds daily comfort and long-term value to the home.

Before: Just a Bedroom

At first glance, this was just another bedroom — four walls, carpet, and not much else.

But with the right design, even an empty corner can become the perfect spot for an ensuite.

During: Building the Framework

The first stage was to mark out the new room within the existing bedroom space.

We built the stud walls to form the ensuite footprint, carefully measuring to ensure there was enough space for a shower, toilet, and basin without compromising the bedroom layout.

Plumbing, electrics, and ventilation were all run in the walls, floor & ceiling at this stage — the hidden details that make an ensuite both functional and future-proof.

During: Bedroom side

With the structure in place, the next step was insulating the studwork, boarding it out, plastering and painting externally (as well as re-fitting the existing carpet up to new skirting)

During: Ensuite side

Inside the ensuite, large-format marble-effect tiles were chosen to give the compact space a light, luxurious feel.

The corner shower enclosure, wall-hung basin unit, and close-coupled toilet all made efficient use of space, while modern fittings and a heated towel rail added comfort.

After: A Fully Fitted Ensuite

The finished result speaks for itself: a bright, modern ensuite with all the functionality of a main bathroom, neatly tucked into what was once unused bedroom space.
